Mrs. Giacchino’s seniors finished reading Animal Farm by George Orwell and created a project to wrap up the unit. Students were asked to pick a dramatic or arts/crafts project from a list of approved projects. Christian created a timeline on a PowerPoint to compare the history of various totalitarian societies to the novel. Riley chose a dramatic project option and produced script from part of the novel and puppets to present to the class as if he were retelling the story. Mitchell decided upon an arts and crafts project where he could truly display his artistic ability in drawing the important scenes from the novel. The seniors enjoyed reading the novel, being able to relate the novel’s content to history, and being able to show their creativity to their fellow classmates.
