Our Middle School Program is for students in Grades 6 through 8.
Middle School is a pivotal time in children’s development. As they transition from dependent learners to independent thinkers, these students require a customized academic environment. Skills learned in elementary school are expanded and enhanced. New concepts that will be necessary for high school are introduced. Eaton Academy‘s overall 5:1 Student:Teacher ratio enables our instructors to provide experiential lessons that address students’ various learning modalities, promoting strong study skills and self-motivation.
Composition in the Middle School expands upon the basics of the writing process and research skills. Students refine their communication skills through speaking, listening, reading, and writing on a daily basis.
Extensive field trips and technology are well integrated into the Middle School program. Communication between teachers and families and a true team approach further enhance the multisensory, success-oriented environment. Use of Google Classroom gives teachers real-time access to the students’ work, fostering a collaborative classroom. Additionally, this program improves students’ ability to manage their assignments and advocate for themselves.
Character education at the middle school level encourages students to be their BEST. Eaton Academy fosters a supportive, positive atmosphere in which each student’s individuality can be acknowledged and celebrated.
