I just received and want to share with the Eaton community this letter of congratulations from Rich McCormick, MD, MBA, and United States Congressman from Georgia’s 7th district. I’m including the original letter in PDF format.
Dear Mr. Uitvlugt,
I would like to join your friends and colleagues in congratulating you on helping foster 30 years of academic excellence at the Eaton Academy. This remarkable milestone is a testament to your dedication and vision as an educator in our community.
As the current owner and co-founder of Eaton Academy, you have displayed your commitment to stewarding the growth of students in Georgia. In providing an innovative and tailored approach to education, you have empowered students to not only maintain a strong academic foundation, but to become the best versions of themselves. Through the school’s postgraduate LEAP Program, you have allowed students to hone important workplace and life skills that will serve them well in adulthood and for future opportunities.
As an educator, you play a pivotal role in mentoring the students and helping them embrace their call to civic responsibility. America has a rich and diverse history that is continued through community leaders, like yourself. We stand at a pivotal moment in America’s history, with many challenges facing us, but with many opportunities as well. This generation of youth holds the key to shaping America’s future success. It is now up to people like you to help encourage this generation to lead America onto a path of success which will benefit the country and those who call it home. It brings me great satisfaction to know that Eaton Academy is shaping thoughtful, capable, and ambitious individuals who will one day guide our country forward.
As your congressman, I am proud of all your hard work and accomplishments for constituents in our district. As you continue your journey, please continue to emphasize the power of reading! It is not just about academic texts, but also exploring new worlds, and gaining new perspectives. I look forward to reading about your students’ future accomplishments and wish you the best of luck in all endeavors.
