On Thursday, May 16, Eaton celebrated students and their families at the annual Evening of Celebration. Families and staff came together at the Roswell Mill to honor the rising freshmen, award winners, and Class of 2024.
Welcomed by Brian Uitvlugt and Kelly Giles, teachers and families had an opportunity to greet one another, and students had a chance to tell each other how nice they looked in their dressy attire. Everyone then enjoyed an excellent buffet dinner. As dessert was being served, the awards portion of the evening began with the recognition of Eaton’s rising freshmen and the presentation of their 8th grade diplomas.
Kelly and Brian then moved on to the presentation of high school departmental awards, the Pro Merito awards, and the Distinguished Student Award for K8 and high school. A complete list of the winners is below.
Indispensable executive assistant Christian Dooley was presented with the Distinguished Service Award. Staff members further honored Christian by giving him a standing ovation when his name was announced.
As the lights dimmed, the Class of 2024, led by graduation marshal Nick Valigursky, walked to the front of the room. Their procession to the podium was accompanied by Pomp and Circumstance playing through the sound system. Each senior was given time to make a few remarks, and many were both humorous and touching. After speaking, the seniors were awarded their diplomas and stood for the Class of 2024 photograph.
