After enduring the complications of COVID concerns and restrictions over the last three years, we returned to the Roswell Mill for our annual Evening of Celebration. The event was held on May 18 and honored our rising freshmen, our award winners, and the Class of 2023.
After a brief welcome by Co-founder and President Brian Uitvlugt, the families enjoyed time together and an excellent buffet dinner. As dessert was being served, the program got under way with the recognition of Eaton’s rising freshmen and the presentation of their 8th grade diplomas.
Next, Kelly Giles and Marcia Hall supervised the presentation of high school departmental awards, the winners of this year’s Pro Merito Awards, and the Distinguished Student Award for K8 and high school. A complete list of the winners is below.
Alumnus Riley Walsh, who earned his Master’s at KSU, spoke to honor Marcia Hall as she transitions to Academic Director Emeritus and presented her with a lovely bouquet in recognition of her years of loving support to her students and the school.
To begin the graduation portion of the evening, the Class of 2023, led by graduation marshal Nick Valigursky, walked to the podium to the strains of Pomp and Circumstance. Each senior was offered the chance to make a few remarks, and many were both humorous and touching. After speaking, the seniors were given their diplomas and stood for the Class of 2023 photograph.
This event has been the school’s traditional end to the academic year since 2000. Many attendees remarked how pleasant it was to be able to “get back to normal.”
Congratulations to all of our students, especially the members of the Class of 2023.
