Ms. Hrabosky’s English classes are kicking it into high gear and starting off the school year by practicing handwriting. Students have enjoyed the various mediums this week as we practiced writing cursive and manuscript, using paper and pencil as well as helping the tactile or kinesthetic learners by writing the alphabet in shaving cream. As a whole, we decided that even though technology is progressing and is readily at our finger tips, we believe that cursive writing should still be a part of the curriculum in schools nationwide. Students were passionate about this in a discussion and stated the importance of being able to read and sign important documents, both personal and historical. Some students even prefer cursive over manuscript. Handwriting was a success this week, and we all hope to keep our good handwriting skills fresh in our minds throughout the school year.
