Dear Parents of High School Students:
My car is the color of a tennis ball, so that must mean that spring is here! Once spring break has passed, the remaining weeks seem to fly past. We’ll be watching our seniors graduate in no time!
Most of our clubs have been wrapping up in the past few weeks. Flag Football and Advanced Tennis ended in the last week, and we enjoyed beautiful weather on our final outings. The yearbook has been submitted for publication, and Mr. Nolen and his staff are proud of the edition that you will receive. We still have two more weeks of bowling, and then it’s time to concentrate on preparation for final exams!
Finals will be held on May 19th through the 21st. We will hold two final exams per day, and the second final will end daily at 12:15pm. Students may not be taking final exams in each of their classes, so teachers will be discussing individual exam schedules in their classes. If you have any questions about final exams or the schedule, please feel free to contact me here at school.
Please remember that our Evening of Celebration will be held on the evening of May 13th. I hope that you and your family plan to attend to see our students recognized for outstanding accomplishments in addition to our seniors’ graduation walk. Reservations can be made through Karen Erickson at our reception desk.
Also, as you’re planning ahead, please contact us if you’re planning to take advantage of any of our summer programs. Staffing and materials need to be prepared in advance, and we want to make sure that the course or program in which you have interest is being offered. Insufficient numbers as we approach the summer could lead to courses being removed from our offerings. In addition to our for-credit summer courses, we will be offering two programs for students in Mrs. O’Brien’s, Mrs. Kern’s, and Mrs. Wood’s classes. Each program will have its own focus and objectives, and information is available through any of these teachers and/or the front office.
Fifteen-week grade reports will be uploaded to the server in the next couple of days, and you should be receiving an email notice to their presence in your student’s portal. These grades represent the final progress report prior to final exams and should provide a good idea of standings as we wrap up the semester.
Let’s all work together to impress upon our students the importance of these final weeks as we head into final exams!
As always, stay in touch.
