High School Update 1/21/11

Dear Parents,

The second start to the new semester has gone well this week, and barring any unforseen weather developments, we plan on a smooth, productive, and exciting remainder of the year!

Students have been adjusting to their new schedules and signing up for clubs. Right now, it appears that the Screamin’ Chinchillas will keep on bowling, and significant interest has been expressed by the students to pursue tennis, flag football, and some indoor sports at the Wills Park Gymnasium on Wednesday afternoons. Basketball, floor hockey, frisbee, and other sports could take place in that space. Students collecting hours for PE credits should plan to attend!

Also, this ‘officially’ ends our first three weeks of the semester. Due to the fact that we’ve had two four-day weeks in session and missed a complete week, we will delay the first progress report until next week. On a related note, I have already heard from parents that ride arrangements, appointments, etc have been planned starting next week in anticipation of the end of mandatory Help Session. In recognition of this fact, Help Session will not be mandatory next week. As always, we encourage participation, but we will understand if other factors are prohibiting that next week. Following the first progress report, standard Help Session policies will be in effect.

Have a great weekend, stay warm, and GO BEARS!!

Glen
