K-8 students visit Stone Mountain

Students enjoyed a field trip to Stone Mountain last week. Once they entered the park, students had the opportunity to ride the Skyride to the top of the mountain. This field trip tied in nicely with Mrs. Hall and Mrs. Giles’ science classes as the students have been discussing rocks and minerals. The classes were able to identify Stone Mountain as an intrusive, igneous rock made of granite. Ask your child what lives in the small pools on the mountain. Overall it was a fun and educational trip.
