Well, here we are at the start of another school year, and we are still struggling with issues regarding COVID. By necessity, our approach to the situation will be fluid. We will adjust as circumstances warrant.
All of our staff have been vaccinated, and we once again highly encourage all those who are eligible in our community to get the shot. At present, we are not requiring students to wear masks all day while at school. We are requiring each student to bring a mask daily. Certain instructors have personal health concerns, and they may require students to wear masks in some of their classes. Similarly, if students are working together closely, they will need to wear masks.
Any student or teacher who wants to wear a mask all the time is certainly welcome to do so.
We will be monitoring the rate of infection in our area in line with certain Fulton county and other private schools in our area. If the rate spikes, students will be required to wear masks until it drops.
Students who are not feeling well should stay home. If someone tests positive, we will make the decision to switch to our virtual platform on a case-by-case basis, allowing the circumstances of the situation to determine our reaction.
Staff and students will be given frequent reminders to wash their hands and maintain social distancing as much as possible.
In the uncertain world of today, we are endeavoring to balance the learning needs of our students with concerns for everyone’s health.
