In science class, students studied the structure and function of cells. To compare structures of plant and animal cells, they looked at both under the microscope. Animal cells came from our cheeks, and plant cells came from an aquarium plant. Students were then assigned to create a cell model to show the parts of a cell. They not only had to label the parts (organelles), but also had to give a short description of the function of each structure. Students were extremely creative with their models. One model was even edible!
