While a degree of uncertainty remains regarding summer offerings in today’s world, Eaton Academy is happy to announce that our LEAP summer program will take place starting in June.
We have adapted our curriculum so that teachers can deliver live, hands-on web-based learning in our new stay-at-home society.
The online approach to the LEAP curriculum was developed, perfected, and delivered this year and will remain in use this summer. LEAP is prepared to offer the same work-based program it has in the past, provided businesses elect to open. If such is not the case, LEAP will provide experiential learning utilizing our virtual platforms.
We utilize Google Classroom and Google Meets in a large and small group model.
The summer day begins at 9:30 and ends at 3:30. Instructors teach classes throughout the LEAP day, and the participants will rotate through each class during the day.
These classes are experiential, and students will participate from home.
The classes consist of:
- social skills
- anxiety and stress management
- art therapy
- personal finance
- job readiness / interview skills
- communications and role-play
- independent living skills
