Mrs. Coryer’s students had a fun first couple of weeks. We had fun practicing our reading skills using Lexia. Students drew parts of a plant using shaving cream. Map skill were sharpened when we looked for our home addresses on a map. And, we ended the week with Fun Friday Centers with Ms. Stickel’s class.

Ms. Ammendola’s language arts class practiced R.A.W., Read and Write. The students read for an assigned amount of time and then wrote about it. Afterwards they proofread and edited their entry using a proofreader and writer checklist. R.A.W helps improve reading fluency and comprehension. Proofreading helps improve understanding of writing mechanics.
