Mrs. Kern’s and Mrs. O’Brien’s students are back in school today after getting some rest over the weekend. Good rest was necessary after their return from an incredible experience in Washington, DC! The students, along with Mrs. Kern and chaperones, spent three full days touring and observing famous memorials, museums, and landmarks. Memorial stops included those honoring Lincoln, Jefferson, and Roosevelt, World War II, Viet Nam, and the Korean wars. Students got an inside tour of the Capitol building, and were able to visit several of the Smithsonian National Museums. In addition, they participated in a DC Trolley tour and learned their way around the Washington subway systems!
Fun meals were shared at the Article One American Grill, Crystal City Sports Pub, and others. All of the travelers found it surprising how much there was to see in the city, and all wished there was more time to enjoy additional places of interest.
