Today in assembly students heard an acrostic poem about CITIZENSHIP. An acrostic poem has a “series of lines in which certain letters, usually the first in each line, form a name, motto, or message when read in sequence.” The Mentor Room group discussed the important traits of being a good citizen at school. Using letters in “citizenship”, some of the lines included the following: Insist on honesty at school, Enlist others to make school better, Show up at school ready to learn, and Help others to make good decisions. Students participate in W.O.W (Word of the Week) each week by studying a new word in character education.
